As of October 2018, almost two years will have passed since the worldwide Women's Marches of 2017 mobilized more than 5 million people worldwide to show up together in support of dignity and respect for all people. Joined by March Forward Massachusetts, the permanent organization born from the energy and goodwill of the 2017 Boston Women’s March, the WAVE of Women continues to support all those who persist for justice, and we particularly uplift the voices of those who are most at risk from an agenda that seeks to marginalize and divide us. We recognize that DEMOCRACY IS NOT A SPECTATOR SPORT
The WAVE of Women invites women and allies to participate in self-driven, hyper-local action on October 13, 2018. On that day, we will show up in groups or as individuals at visible spaces in our own cities and towns, expressing on our signs what matters to us and re-asserting support of the marches' ideals to uphold the values of our nation. This year, we also have the opportunity to drive our mobilization toward long term impact. The deadline to register to vote is October 17, and the WAVE will be a major statewide effort to find and register young people, lapsed voters, and new citizens. Our WAVE will crash into the polls on November 6.
Will you join the WAVE? Sign up today to pledge your participation. We will help you set up your local action on your own, with a friend or two, or with a larger group from your community, in solidarity with women and allies across the state. Massachusetts has 351 towns and cities, and our goal on October 13 is to have action in each and every community in our Commonwealth. Join us!
